Retrofitting a network

Directly via the router

Image 1: Connect the DATALIGHT media converter to the router using a patch cable and connect the included power cable to a socket outlet.

Image 2: The POF cable from the media converter can be pulled to the terminal device through existing electrical conduits. If necessary, the cable can also be routed to its desired destination in baseboards, under the floor or in corners.

Image 3: At the destination, plug the POF cable into another media converter. You can establish the required power connection directly at the terminal device using the included USB plug. Finally, connect the terminal device with the media converter using a patch cable. Done!

Via an existing network socket

Image 1: Do you already have a network socket with LAN port but require this at another point in the room? In this case, connect the DATALIGHT media converter with the existing LAN port using a patch cable. The nearby socket outlet, for instance, supplies the converter with power.

Image 2: The POF cable from the media converter can be pulled to the terminal device through existing electrical conduits. If necessary, the cable can also be routed to its desired destination in baseboards, under the floor or in corners.

Image 3: At the destination, plug the POF cable into another media converter. The converter can be supplied with power from the terminal device using the included USB mains adapter. Finally, connect the terminal device with the media converter using a patch cable. Voilà, your safe and stable data connection!

Small network

Image 1: Do you need wired network connections in two places in the house only? No problem! Installing a switch is not necessary to set up a small network. Only two media converters are directly connected to the router using patch cables. The included power cables are connected to socket outlets.

Image 2: The POF cables from the media converters can be easily pulled to the desired destination through existing electrical conduits. If necessary, the cable can also be routed in baseboards, under the floor or in corners.

Image 3: At the respective destinations, plug the POF cables into one media converter each. You can establish the required power connection using the included USB mains adapter at the terminal device. Finally, connect the media converter with the terminal device using a patch cable.

With fully occupied switch

Image 1: All connections at the DATALIGHT switch are already occupied? The DATALIGHT media converter is also a quick and easy solution for this situation. Because another media converter can be connected either directly to the router or to the switch itself using patch cables. A socket outlet supplies the converter with power.

Image 2: Similar to examples 1, 2 and 3, the POF cable from the media converter can be pulled to the terminal device through existing electrical conduits. The POF cable can also be routed to its desired destination in baseboards, under the floor or in corners.

The DATALIGHT system with the Switch 12+4-port 1000 DATALIGHT offers the matching solution also for large networks as can be found in hotels, offices or in commercial buildings in general.
